Date Night

Last night my husband and I had a "date night". He took me somewhere I had never been before...the gun range. While I have used firearms several times, it has always been in my backyard...shooting groundhogs or aiming at a tree. I was not quite prepared for the smell. I had a pretty good time, with the exception of the smell. Scott was hoping that I would love it. Here is the thing about me, I only do something if I know there is a REALLY GOOD chance of me winning or being really good at it.

Now I have killed groundhogs with a 22 mm rifle...from a window...on the second floor of my house. I thought, "Hey, if I can hit and kill a groundhog with one shot, I can surely do well aiming at a target!" Wrong. Not that I was horrible, it is that I am used to using Scott's 22 rifle that belonged to his grandfather. I am comfortable with it and know what to expect. I did okay with the 22 mm pistol, but I was not so good at using Scott's new 22 mm rifle. Then Scott handed me his 9 mm pistol. I was nervous enough to use it, then I look over and he is recording me on his phone.

After all the shooting I could handle was over, he took me to one of our favorite restaurants- Cilantro (which is a Thai restaurant in the closest city to us). Who would have thought we would have needed a reservation for a table for two on a Saturday night? After waiting a little while, the hostess explained to me that they didn't have any available tables that evening, but we could sit at the sushi bar. This was the busiest I have ever seen the restaurant, our server was slammed. I ordered some sushi and Scott had Spicy Noodles with Beef. My food was ready within five minutes and they brought it to me. I LOVE their Spider Roll. Soft shell crab is sooooo delicious! I also ordered another roll, but I wasn't a huge fan of it. Scott ate a couple pieces of my rolls while we waited, and waited, and waited for his food to come. It took so long even the head sushi maker went into the kitchen twice to check on it (without our asking). Eventually, his steaming hot plate of rice noodles came and he was not disappointed. It looked really good, but I couldn't try it because someone always picks the level 5 spice which is way too hot for me.

To wrap up our fun evening, I took him to get a soft serve cone...at Burger King. Don't laugh, they have a pretty good soft serve. Scott said it was close to being better than Strickland's, which is pretty major because Scott loves Strickland's ice cream. And the price was right too, just 89 cents a cone...way cheaper than Strickland's.

Rut

I have hit a rut. I went into Spring Break with great motivation to get things done. My to-do list was accomplishable. However with three days left until work beckons me, I have realized that I will not get it all done. There were more important things that needed done, that weren't on my list.
Taking multiple trips to the vet, going to the grocery store several times, and just being lazy has hindered my progress. I feel like this lack of motivation is directly tied to my horrendous two week wait. I have tried my hardest not to think too much about if my IUI worked or not. This is so hard now that I know I have a handful of days until I get my answer. I want to be positive, but I need to prepare myself for another negative month. As always, continued prayers are coveted.
